Financing renewable energy systems through partnership

To ensure the right skill sets are attached to a project, Nykredit has formed an energy sector and infrastructure group, which is to coordinate and target efforts within the Danish energy sector. Nykredit advises energy customers about anything from capital structure and raising capital to purchasing and selling, which often requires in-depth knowledge about political factors (such as subsidy schemes for wind, solar and biogas energy).

The energy sector's considerable growth over the past decade has been driven by large investments aimed at converting the energy system to renewable energy. To this end, Nykredit has been involved in several sales and advisory projects targeted at businesses and investors in the Danish energy sector. We have for example financed electricity grids spanning more than 85,000 km as well as wind turbines producing 475 GWh and biogas plants producing 300 GWh for the benefit of Danish consumers; investments that support conversion to renewable energy sources. Nykredit also develops financial products aimed at financing electricity grids, wind turbines and biogas plants and is focused on remaining the energy sector's preferred financial partner. We are thus contributing to the ongoing transition to renewable energy in Denmark.
