Sustainable agriculture
Nykredit is Denmark's largest lender to agriculture, which puts it in a strong position to help make green and sustainable choices easier and cheaper in the agricultural sector.
Farms and a large share of the remaining production in the food cluster are located outside the large cities, and therefore the agricultural sector also plays a vital role in supporting growth in rural districts and to the economy because of the extensive exports. In addition, agriculture and forestry play an important role for biodiversity.
Green financing of machinery
In 2020 Nykredit launched green financing of machinery to facilitate cost-effective deployment of machinery and new technology that advances the green transition. Farmers are offered loans at 0% interest and no origination fees if they are already banking or mortgage customers of Nykredit. Read more about green machinery finance here.
