About the Speakers

Signe Krogstrup

Signe Krogstrup is Governor at Danmarks Nationalbank. She holds an MSc econ. from University of Copenhagen and a PhD in international economics from The Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Switzerland.

Signe has extensive experience in economic research and monetary policy. Prior to joining Danmarks Nationalbank in June 2019, she held an advisor position and was member of senior management in the Research Management of The International Monetary Fund, IMF.

From 2007 to 2016, Signe worked at The Swiss National Bank.

Kristian Vie Madsen

Kristian Vie Madsen was appointed Deputy Director General in 2011. He is responsible for the supervision of banks, mortgage credit institutions, computer services, economic statistics, international market contact, funding, liquidity and SIFI analysis.  

From 2007-2011 Kristian Vie Madsen served as Director at the FSA, and from 2005-2007 he held a position as Director at Danish Ministry of Business and Growth. 

Kristian Vie Madsen is MSc in Mathematics-Economics from Aarhus University.

 

Thomas Ahrenkiel

Thomas Ahrenkiel heads Europe Practice at Macro Advisory Partners and brings a unique perspective on the political and economic trends prevailing in Europe. He served at the highest ranks of the Danish civil service for more than 25 years. 

Thomas has held senior decision-making roles within the prime minister’s office, the Defence Ministry and Foreign Service. These positions include permanent secretary of state at the Ministry of Defence, director of the Danish Defence Intelligence Service, diplomatic adviser to the prime minister and chief European adviser in the prime minister’s office. Thomas previously worked in Denmark’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and represented the Danish government in a number of diplomatic roles, including in permanent missions to NATO and the EU.

Thomas holds a Cand.Polit. (master’s degree in economics) from the University of Copenhagen and a master’s degree in applied economics and international relations from the Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris (Sciences Po).
